This is a song I came across in my recent travails over the net. It was so good that I kept on singing this song for about two days and drove everyone mad. Some of my friends even learnt the song(courtesy, my constant singing!).
This is a folk song by Vedanth. Though I don't know anything else about the song or the artist, I can easily say that this is a really good one. The lyrics are simple without being simplistic and that's rare in the present world. They capture the innocence of bygone times and I only wish that the song was longer and didn't finish so abruptly. Here are the lyrics:

Archna/sulabha, your voice in the movie version was good. I've sent you the version I have and I got it through a friend of mine even before the audio of Kaalapani came out. I instantly loved it and even sing it whenever I feel the need to just break free. I didn't know that it was going to be part of a movie. For all I know, the version I have might even be a trial version of the song that you sung because it had only the first verse.
